Low Fare Guarantee
An eligible challenge is when a corporate traveler finds a flight which is cheaper than the lowest logical airfare found by ALTOUR. Lowest logical airfare, as defined by your company, is the lowest airfare available within the company's designated window of convenience (check your company travel policy) of the requested departure time on any preferred or non preferred airlines, including connections, and the savings is greater than your company's designated savings parameters.
Raising a challenge
The challenge needs to be raised no later than two hours after the travel agency confirms the reservation. The two hours mentioned commence upon booking of the fare, which is communicated to the traveler/travel arranger.
The challenge should be documented by completing the challenge form.
The challenge requires a copy of the flight information from an Internet site or a copy of an itinerary showing the alternative flights, the total fare, and the date and time.
ALTOUR must be given the opportunity to match the lower fare. No bookings should be made with any other agency. ALTOUR will match or refund the difference of this new fare if the challenge is valid.
All fare quotes must include all taxes, surcharges and, therefore, challenges should also mirror these incremental charges.
Reservations made through your company's designated online booking tool are included in this initiative.
Once the documentation is presented, ALTOUR will immediately research why the lower fare was not available at the time of reservation and will respond with a conclusion within 24 hours, or the next business day. If a lower fare is available, ALTOUR will match the lower fare. If the ticket has already been issued, ALTOUR will refund the difference.
